Welcome

My name is Dawn Miller and I am an aspiring mystery writer.  In my previous life, I was an elementary school teacher.  Two of my mysteries, MURDEROUS DESCENT and PORTRAIT OF VENGEANCE, are available on PublishAmerica.com and Amazon.com.  My newest endeavor, SECRETS, LIES, AND TRASH is still looking for a home.

Mysterious Happenings is a blog about my journey to become a writer.  You can't spend fifteen years in front of a classroom without picking up a trick or two.  Many of them I will share in the Education Tips section.  Posts will be about helpful hints in working with your child.  Academic success works best when there is a partnership between home and school.

I have always loved the idea of traveling, but unfortunately haven't been too many places.  I have been a few and many of them usually show up in my stories.  In the travel section, I will touch on those as well as some new ones.  Most will be family oriented since my husband and I probably won't have a romantic getaway until the baby hits double digits.  My goal is to one day wander around Europe, especially Ireland.

My publishing credits also include two short stories which appeared in Down in the Dirt, an online magazine.  Most recently, two of my shorts were published in CRIME SCENE NEW JERSEY, an anthology of mysteries set in the Garden State.  Periodically, I will post shorts that I hope you will enjoy.

Noteworthy Books will be dedicated to some of my all time favorite mysteries and other great reads.
